HOW WE GIVE BACK TO NATURE

1 kiosk produced = 2 trees planted

Producing a XMASHUT chalet inevitably involves cutting down trees. Our team is well aware of the negative impact this has on the environment. This is why, in addition to our PFC and PEFC certification process, we felt it was important to give back to the land what it has given us. How do we do this? By replanting 2 trees per chalet produced thanks to our partnership with the non-profit organization ONE TREE PLANTED.

ONE TREE PLANTED

As an environmental charity, ONE TREE PLANTED makes it easier for individuals and businesses to contribute to environmental protection, the creation of a healthier climate, the protection of biodiversity and reforestation efforts around the world. All this by planting trees!

Since 2014, this non-profit organization has more than doubled the number of trees planted from one year to the next.

Today, it works with tremendous reforestation partners in North America, South America, Asia and Africa, helping them plant trees to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs, strengthen communities and protect biodiversity habitat.

By 2019, they have managed to plant more trees than ever before - 4 million!

OUR TREES

WHY TO REPLANT THOSE TREES?

Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink and provide habitat for more than 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. They also provide jobs for more than 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines.

ROMANIA

REPLANT TREES IN TRANSYLVANIA

Climate change and the evolution of agricultural practices have left large parts of the Romanian plains abandoned. Lacking people to manage the land, soil erosion and landscape degradation are beginning to take their toll.

Our planting partners in Transylvania are converting these abandoned lands into healthy forests and raising awareness of the importance of appropriate land management to ensure the proper maintenance of these forests.

This planting project is taking place around the picturesque UNESCO World Heritage Site Sighișoara, which is made up of 13th century Saxon Romanian villages.
